The nr 3 Carsport Holland Chrysler Viper GTS-R was once more fastest in the second session, with a time of 2:22.196, an improvement of over two seconds from the first session. The Dutch-entered car was followed by the nr12 Paul Belmondo Racing Viper GTS-R, with the nr 5 Rafanelli Ferrari 550 Maranello third.
Stephane Ortelli, driving the nr 57 Freisinger Motorsport Porsche 996 GT3-R, was fastest in N-GT, nearly a second ahead of the team's nr 58 car, shared by Christophe Tinseau, Xavier Pompidou, Vanina Ickx and Tim Verbergt. The nr 79 Seikel Motorsport Porsche 996 GT3-R was third.
Best of the cars from category two and three was once more the nr 93 Patrick Brisset Lamborghini Diablo, driven by Patrick Brisset, Gérard Larrousse and Frank Kremer, in 20th place with a time of 2:34.034 and the nr 88 Belgian Racing Vertigo Streiff of Ugeux, Kropp and Vancampenhoudt leading category 2 in 22nd position.
The second free practice session, which took place in the early evening, saw the weather grow cooler, with even some drops of rain falling on the Belgian circuit.
Early in the second session, the Rafanelli Ferrari was leading the tables, with a time of 2:26.316. Stephane Ortelli, in the nr 57 Freisinger Motorsport Porsche 996 GT3-R, improved on the morning's best N-GT time, with a lap of 2:31.063.
A duel then developed between the nr 5 Rafanelli Ferrari and the nr 7 Larbre Competition Chereau Viper GTS-R, swapping fastest times. The nr 12 Paul Belmondo Racing Chrysler Viper was next to lead the tables, with Vincent Vosse setting a time of 2:24:034. Vosse continued to improve, his time going down to 2:23.689 at the end of the first hour. The nr 3 Carsport Holland Chrysler Viper GTS-R then moved into the lead, setting a time of 2:22.196, while Stephane Ortelli continued to lead N-GT, with his best time 2:29.590, over two seconds faster than Babini's first session time.
The session was red-flagged at 19:18, when the nr 60 Porsche 996 GT3-R Haberthur Racing hit the barriers in the fast Blanchimont section of the track, with Jacques Marquet at the wheel. The driver was unharmed but there was a lot of debris on the track. According to Marquet afterwards, the car cannot be repaired before the race, as the body shell has been completely destroyed at the front.
With only ten minutes left, the session was truncated.
